Anonymous- I think you are correct about Little League paying a fee to lease the land...I'm almost positive the lease was $1 for 99 years.

If the lady was a hoarder and the apt had stuff everywhere, it would seem to me that would be reason to do a thorough search for a missing woman right there. Missing woman, debris all over apt...that's not enough for a warrant to do an extensive search? Really? Either cops had no interest in looking or the law needs to be changed. I don't know which of the two it is, but it is one of them.

Based on my own experience, I think there is merit to this report. Two of my children were way behind at Gibbs and got to the middle school and immediately did significantly better.

Lori- who cares what beaurucrats at the state say, I sure don't. It cracks me up that you would even use that as an argument in this forum, when I have personally seen you discount what the state says about other issues/reccomendations. You can't debate public good and use the state in one forum and discount them in others. The fact is that the school budget is completely out of control. I don't care what the state spends or what road ell or glen rock spend, I care about what new Milford spends and the direct impact it has on taxation and ultimately the overall well fiscal being of taxpayers in New Milford.

I don't know anyone named tomodachi...assuming you don't have the courage to use your real name, shhhhhhhhh. When you do, or would like to speak to me, I am easy to find around town.

Im all for saving money...but with a 32 million school budget..approving 2.3 million for new firehouses...updating police headquarters...i mean really...what does this one save per taxpayer 83 cents?

All the while, our kids still play on unlevel fields with geese crap all over them because people in town refused to spend $50 a year more?

Paige- ten years ago, home values were much higher. HELOC's were cash cows. Everything has changed and taxpayers cannot afford a 32 million tax levy. It is really tha simple. It doesnt matter how great everything is, it is unsustainable to those paying for it.

I will refrain from commenting at length. I will repeat a position I have held for years. Taxpayers are responsible to fund public education, not state of the art specialized education. I went to nmhs, have a daughter that graduated from nmhs, and currently have two children in the new milford public school system. I love this town...but 32 million is absolutely insane. Someone go back ten years and tell me what the school budget was, subtract it from 32 million, and then illustrate what we got for the difference. And for the record, shame on everyone who voted to give away their ability to vote on the budget; I certainly didn't.

Mark Flores. The new council, as you know was 4-2 dem majority. It is a forgone conclusion that with control the Dems are going to hire a Dem attorney so the former attorney didnt even apply for the job. he was not even in attendance. at the reorg, last years attorney is dismissed prior to a new attorney being hired.I don't know how the Reps stay out of voting for an attorney or how they would have any idea the Dem controlled council didnt come with their hand picked attorney with all of them on the same page. Should they have refused to vote? Would you even want elected members of the council to not vote? Who could have planned for what transpired that night? I suppose they could have delayed hiring an attorney and asked the old attorney to continue for a few months, but that would have had to come from the Dems. If the Reps tried that, they would have been accused of grandstanding.

The bottom line is, a judge said their was no conflict, and ms Grant simply wasted taxpayer money on this lawsuit by trying to give a no bid job to the former borough attorney and current Dem mayor of River Edge,s wife. By the way, had she been appointed, I also think we would have potentially had a shared services concern with the borough of river edge, or may have been prevented from exploring shared services in the future.
