Rep. Scott Garrett Faces Challenge from Fellow Republican

Bergen resident will run against Garrett, according to reports.

Bergen County resident Michael Cino has filed paperwork to run against fellow Republican Rep. Scott Garrett in the state's June primary,according to The Express-Times.  Congressional redistricting expanded Garrett's 5th District farther into Bergen County, including a large section of Teaneck. "At some point, the Republican leadership have to say this guy's not effective," Cino said in the report.  Garrett has picked up support from Bergen's top Republican officials, including County Executive Kathleen Donovan. Updated: Rothman to Move to Englewood, Challenge Fellow Democrat

Rothman to run against Bill Pascrell Jr. in June primary, reports say.

Rep. Steve Rothman will move to Englewoodand run against fellow Democrat Bill Pascrell Jr. in the June primary for the newly configured 9th District, northjersey.com reported Monday night.  In a statement issued Tuesday, Rothman confirmed he would run against Pascrell.NJ.com, citing three sources, reported Rothman started telling Democrats on Monday that would leave his hometown of Fair Lawn.  “I have represented the Ninth Congressional District for the past 15 years and have lived here nearly my entire life.
