Children Perish in Newark Fire, NJ Woman Wounded in Batman Shooting Top State News

Other top stories include a former Paramus High School valedictorian killed while jogging and a boy who died after a sand tunnel he was digging at the beach collapsed on him.

A 3-year-old girl, 4-year-old boy, believed to be siblings, died in a rear apartment on the third floor, while a 6-year-old girl, a teenager and a man died in the front apartment on the same floor of the building, fire officials said. The mother of the two children who died in the front apartment was giving birth at a nearby hospital on the day of the fire, officials told NJ.com A 23-year-old Sussex County woman was among the 70 injured when a gunman opened fire and killed 12 people early Friday morning at a movie theater screening of the new Batman movie in Aurora, Colo. Cops: Man Plows Car Into Pole Day After Running Down Paramus Valedictorian

Morris County resident has had several brushes with the law in the past month, including allegations that he harassed golf course workers, stole a truck, and wielding an ax in a fast food restaurant.

The Morris County man who struck and killed the valedictorian of the Paramus High Class of 2010 on Saturday has been in trouble with police several times in the past month, including one incident in which he is accused of demanding food at a McDonald's while holding an ax. Philip Cise, 48, of Dover, was back on the road one day after striking Gabrielle Reuveni, 20, while she jogged Saturday near her family’s Poconos vacation home. The following day, police said, Cise plowed another vehicle into a utility pole in Lake Hiawatha. Cise was uninjured and officers discovered he had an arrest warrant for allegedly harassing employees at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. Cise was arrested and handed over to Bedminster Township Police. …

Seems like he is on a major rant and has been eluding the police for quite some time. Just my opinion, but I highly doubt that it was an accident, since witnesses saw him cross the line several times prior to him hitting Gabby.   more ›
