New Milford Lights Up For The Holidays As Santa Comes To Town

The town comes out for the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree and the arrival of Santa by firetruck.

Councilman-elect Michael Putrino summed up the evening best, "If there was snow on the ground, this would be a Norman Rockwell painting." With Borough Hall lit up like a building in a Christmas Village display, Mayor Ann Subrizi welcomed the hundreds gathered together on the lawn of borough hall to be entertained by the New Milford High School Band and holiday carols by the Girl Scouts before the lighting of the tree and the arrival of Santa. This year's honorary Tree lighters were Ray Cottiers with the students who traveled with him to New Orleans, and Kaitlyn Carberry.  Cottiers, NMHS 2004 who now teaches Social Studies at David E. Owens Middle School, organized a trip for eighth graders and NMHS Juniors to New Orleans to help rebuild …

New Milford Tree Lighting Ceremony Sunday

New Milford's tree lighting ceremony is taking place Sunday on the steps of Borough Hall; Santa is coming to town.

New Milford will be holding its annual tree lighting ceremony Sunday, Dec. 2 at 6 pm on the steps of Borough Hall. The New Milford High School Band will play three selections and the New Milford Girls Scouts will sing songs. The entire community is invited to attend this annual event. The New Milford Fire Department will once again be escorting Santa to the tree lighting to the delight of all the children. He will be available to hear all Christmas wishes. Don't forget to bring your cameras! Borough Hall is located at 930 River Rd.
