New Milford Junior Knights Win Super Bowl

Second year in a row, Junior Knights take the title.

New Milford Junior Football capped off a great year last Saturday with the Junior team (made up of fifth and sixth graders) winning the Meadowlands Football League's coveted Super Bowl title for the second year in a row with a dominating 13-0 win over Wallington's squad. Entering the playoffs as the top seed from the Northern Division with a 7-1 regular season record, the Junior Knights battled both Elmwood Park and Wood-Ridge to get to the big game which was held at Riggins Field in East Rutherford. New Milford Junior Knights Win Northern Division Championshp

Next stop--playoffs for Junior Knights.

New Milford's Junior Knights took the Northern Division Football Championship and have advanced to the playoffs where they won their first game against Elmwood Park 26-6. The Junior Knights have won seven out of eight games for the season. Their next game is against Woodridge on Sunday. If they win, they will go to the Superbowl, determined to repeat last year's victory. The 2011 Junior Knights team beat the overwhelming odds of Hurricane Irene and the October snowstorm to take home the Super Bowl trophy in 12-0 victory against Saddle Brook. The team is coached by Jeff EllisSr, Eddie Prevot, Jeff Ellis jr, Tim Haas, Tom Ryan, Brian Johnson and Dan Davis.   Click here and have Patch delivered right to your in-box everyday.
