Last week while attending Edscape, Patch asked the principal of NMHS, Eric Sheninger, to explain the Academy program. Rather than talk about it, he invited Patch to come and visit the Academy to see it in action. BOE Member Peggy Saslow Embraces New Technology at Edscape

Education never stops for retired the NMHS teacher and BOE member

After 27 years teaching Home Economics and Science at NMHS, Peggy Saslow returned to the classroom this past Saturday to attend the Edscape Conference, hosted at New Milford High School and organized by Principal Eric Sheninger. "It was absolutely monumental. We're entering a totally new phase in education and it's so exciting," Saslow told Patch. Saslow attended a number of the workshops, but she was particularly fascinated by those demonstrating the functionality and usability of Smartboards in the classroom, and their effectiveness as powerful tools in differentiated instruction. Edscape Conference draws over 300 educators to NMHS to bring the technology of the 21st center into the classroom

To know New Milford High School Principal Eric Sheninger is to know how strongly he embraces technology. Sheninger encourages his staff of teachers to become educated in how to bring 21st Century technology into the classroom as an innovative way expand the walls of the classroom.   Sheninger is, after all, the principal who has a Twitter following of 14,674 (as of the time of printing).
