Gov. Chris Christie appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night to break down his decision to “let the people vote” in a special election for Frank Lautenberg’s senate seat. Chris Christie called for a special election to fill the seat left vacant by the death of longtime Sen. Frank Lautenberg. Sporting a sky-high approval rating that's fluctuated between the high 60s and low 70s percentile during New Jersey's recovery in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Gov. Chris Christie has more than a fair chance at re-election in the upcoming gubernatorial race this fall. His opponents, however, are hoping that public opinion proves to be fickle. Governor to speak ahead of primary election
Gov. Chris Christie will be in Hackensack Monday for a pre-primary rally at the Bergen County Republican Organization's headquarters, an announcement from the party said. "The Governor will discuss his plans to continue moving New Jersey forward and rally support in the final days of the primary election," the announcement said. Monday's rally comes a day before the state primary election. Christie last visited the BCRO in March. Doors open at 5 p.m. with Christie scheduled to speak at 5:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to RSVP at this link. The BCRO is located at 339 Main Street in Hackensack.

State officials are taking their cabinet meeting on the road next week. The Office of Gov. Chris Christie announced Friday that it will hold mobile cabinet office hours in Moonachie on Wednesday from 1 to 6 p.m. Moonachie and Little Ferry were among the Bergen County towns most severely impacted by Superstorm Sandy. “Representatives from state and federal agencies, including the Governor’s Office of Constituent Relations, the Department of Banking and Insurance, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Community Affairs, the Business Action Center, FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program, will be on hand to assist residents and discuss ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts,” according to a release from the governor’s …

Gov. Chris Christie visited Westwood Thursday for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley. Christie praised the hospital's officials for their work and State Health Commissioner Mary O'Dowd for ultimately approving the hospital last year. HUMC at Pascack Valley was the first hospital to receive a license from New Jersey in almost 30 years. "I'm thrilled that this is happening and we can be part of it together," Christie said. Christie and other officials also credited members of the community for their support in reopening the former Pascack Valley Hospital, which closed in 2007 at the same site. Britain's Prince Harry did what most people do on a sunny, spring day in Seaside Heights – take in the ocean views, then play some boardwalk games. Harry came to Seaside Heights with Gov. Chris Christie Tuesday morning after the two toured destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy in Mantoloking. The pair drove south on Route 35 and entered the boardwalk at Grant Avenue where crowds of people were waiting for their arrival. "Prince Harry, we love you," shouted one small girl who was holding a welcome sign. Standing next to her was an Elvis Presley impersonator, hoping to attract some attention of his own from the prince.
