Auditions for bergenPAC's Production of "Children of Eden"

Auditions for this musical being held April 29 and May 17 at bergenPAC.

NMHS alumni, Alex Diaz, Director of Arts Education at bergenPAC, announced that auditions for the upcoming bergenPAC production of "Children of Eden" are being held Sunday, April 29 from 11am to 4pm and on Thursday, May 17 from 4pm to 9pm by appointment. Using the bible as its basis, "Children of Eden" is musical about parents and children and the consequences of choices. Act I is centered on Adam and Eve and their banishment from Eden, ending with Eve hopeful that her children can regain entrance into Eden. Wings of Refuge Benefit Concert Big Success

Concert to benefit the construction of an orphanage in Haiti drew large crowd.

Wings of Refuge: A Benefit Concert for Haiti, hosted by New Milford's Alexa DeMiglio, drew a large crowd to Conlon Hall in Bergenfield on Friday evening. The concert, a fundraiser to aid Haitian children, some who were orphaned by the 2010 earthquake and some whose parents cannot take care of them, was sponsored by the New Milford Boosters.  The concert featured performances by The Nerds and Shaved Ham. Attending the concert was NMHS principal Eric Sheninger, NMHS Athletic Director Joe Ricciardelli and Police Chief Frank Papapietro.

NMHS Alumni Fundraiser Friday

Fundraiser to include performances by returning alumni

New Milford High School will be hosting an alumni concert fundraiser at 8 p.m. Friday in the James Africano Auditorium of New Milford High School. The fundraiser will feature Jonathan Silver, class of 2005 and director of this year's spring musical, along with the cast of 9-to-5: The Musical.  Performing at the alumni concert fundraiser will be alumni Rob McClure, class of 2000, who has appeared on Broadway in Avenue Q and is currently playing the role of Charlie Chaplin in Limelight.  Alexander Diaz, who graduated in 2003, Director of Arts Education at bergenPac will also be attending the fundraiser along with Benjamin Golomb, class of 2002, Marissa Martinez, class of 2003, Marissa Mitchell, class of 2000 and Christian Diaz, Jessica Day, …

NMHS Spring Musical Kicks into Production

"9 to 5: The Musical" directed by alumni Jonathan Silver

Every theater tells a story and New Milford High School's Jim Africano Theater is filled with them. "See that hole in the ceiling up there?" this year's director of the Spring Musical, Jonathan Silver, asked. Directly above the space between the edge of the stage and the first row of seats there is a perfectly symmetrical gaping hole. "Rob (McClure) and I were up there trying to fix the lights when he fell through the ceiling," Silver recalled. "Luckily he caught himself on two bars so he didn't come crashing to the floor." Talk about a "break-a-leg" theater moment.  At the time, Silver (NMHS 2005) was a student cast in the spring musical that Rob McClure (NMHS 2000) was directing.
