The NMPD was founded back in 1924 and provides many services to the borough. It employs 37 officers with additional staff members who help with the administration of the department. The NMPD enforces traffic laws, conducts accident investigations, investigates allegations of fraud and computer crimes. In addition, the department has a bicycle unit, runs the DARE program in local schools, conducts child car seat inspections and much more.
