Five Jersey High School Hockey Teams to Play at Yankee Stadium

Five New Jersey high school hockey teams to take the ice at Yankee Stadium after the NHL Stadium Series on the eve of Super Bowl 48.

More than 105,000 people packed Michigan Stadium, The Big House, for the 2014 NHL Winter Classic. Yankee Stadium will host the two games later this month as part of the NHL Stadium Series. 

The New York Rangers play the New Jersey Devils on Sunday, Jan. 26 and then on the Rangers face off against the New York Islanders on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

When the big boys are done having their fun five high school teams from New Jersey will have a chance to skate on the ice at the house next door to where “The House that Ruth Built” used to stand.

As it stands, Don Bosco Prep, Ramsey plays Christian Borthers Academy, Lincroft and Chatham plays St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City on Friday, Jan. 31. Catholic Memorial, a top ranked Massachusetts club, will play Delbarton, Morris Township on Sunday, Feb. 1.

According to an nj.com article, the games are tentative until contracts are finalized.
