NMHS Students Recognized As Commended Students

NMHS Students recognized as Commended Students in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

New Milford High School Principal Eric Sheninger has announced that Merin Cherian, Nicole Francisco, Brendan O'Brien, and Jennifer Teets have each been named a Commended Student in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

"NMHS is extremely proud of each student's accomplishments," Sheninger said.  "This honor recognizes each of them as one of the top students in our country in terms of academic achievement."

Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2013 competition for the National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT).
