Mike Pevny Benefit Classic

Varsity teams come out winners in annual basketball tournament

New Milford High School hosted its annual basketball tournament in honor of former teacher and coach, Mike Pevny, who died after a short illness in 2004.

Former colleague of Mike Pevny, history teacher Dave Wilson, introduced Pevny's brother Walter who was in the stands with Mike's son, Mike, Jr. Walter is also a teacher at New Milford High School.

The theme of this year's benefit was "Go Green" and the stands were filled with spectators wearing every shade of green. Even the teams put aside their home game white uniforms and wore their away greens.
