DEOMS PTO Holds Raffle, With a Twist

DEOMS PTO brings the fun of a Tricky Tray to the comforts of your home. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 7 and the drawing is taking place Tuesday, March 12.

Coming up with a fundraiser that will draw a lot of attention, as well as donations, is the initiative of every PTO. This year, the PTO of David E. Owens Middle School just may have found the hook.

In lieu of doing an expensive night out, having to pay for babysitters, or asking people to come out on a cold winter's night, the DEOMS PTO has decided to deliver the tricky tray concept directly to the comfort of your own home. According to Tina Youngs, the PTO has received all kinds of amazing prizes to be raffled off.

For parents of middle schoolers, the DEOMS PTO will be sending out raffle tickets in each student's report card. There will be a student raffle and an adult raffle.

Let's remember--this is a fundraiser. That being said, the tickets are not just exclusive to DEO families. In fact, the PTO invites the entire town (and beyond) to participate to help raise much needed funds for the school.

Tickets can also be purchased at the DEOMS PTO meetings on Feb. 12 and March 12.

The drawing will take place at the March 12 PTO meeting. Anyone who does not have a child attending the middle school and would like to participate, can come to the Feb. 12 and March 12 meetings to purchase their tickets and view the prizes in person.

According to Youngs, "Our hope is to raise as much money as we can for the students and teachers at DEO."

"There are always many things on the teacher's and the school's wish lists that as a PTO board, our goal is to try to fill as many of those wishes as possible," she added.
