Buses available for residents who wish to participate in march.

Assemblywoman Connie Wagner announced plans to attend the Million Mom March for Gun Control in Washington DC on Saturday, January 26. The legislative office will organize a bus trip for Bergen County residents who would also like to attend the event.

"Gun control is a critical community issue heightened by the recent unspeakable tragedy in Connecticut," said Wagner, whose district includes New Milford.

"I look forward to joining with the residents of Bergen County and Moms from across the country to march for impactful legislative action to occur nationally and within each state that would help us take the reigns on gun control," she said.

One Million Moms for Gun Control is the co-sponsor of the March on Washington for Gun Control in Washington, DC, on Sat., Jan 26. The goal of the march is to demand immediate action on common-sense gun legislation.

"We will go to Washington to represent our state in the fight against senseless gun crimes occurring far too often in this country. It is time the nation takes a stand and New Jersey will be there."

Residents wishing to participate in March for Gun Control and bus trip to Washington may contact Julie O'Brien at the 38th District Legislative Office (201) 576-9199 or by email, AswWagner@njleg.org.

Misinformed or Socialist? "Assembly Democratic Leader Lou Greenwald said it shouldn't take a tragedy like the shooting massacre in Connecticut, in which 20 first-graders were killed, to make people aware of gun violence, given that 269 New Jersey residents were killed by guns in 2011." Along with the number of 269, I did further research and discovered that of the 269 killed by guns in our state during the year of 2011, ALL but 50 were committed in 7 locations. As an example some were Newark, Trenton, Camden. This is where the drug wars are taking place between gangs and all other gang related disputes. The FBI for this same year indicated that there are not less than 1.4 MILLION gang members across the country. They went on to say that MOST of them are Illegal Aliens. Our legislators, Mayors and who ever else might be in charge of Immigration, and or the protection of the people, are at fault for allowing our state to be a sanctuary state for Illegals. It is breeding crime and jeopardizing all the LEGAL citizens of the state. "I saw a movie once where the only people that had guns were with the Government. It was called Schindler's List " ~ Author unknown.
