The Week Ahead in New Milford

Meeting of the Mayor and Council and special Zoning Board meetings dominate the week ahead in New Milford.

There will be a public meeting of the Mayor and Council Monday evening at 7:45 pm in the council chambers of Borough Hall. Prior to the start of the meeting, the mayor and council will hold a work session at 7 pm in the upstairs conference room of Borough Hall. The public is invited to attend the open portion of the work session.

The work session will include continued discussion regarding River Edge's shared services agreement proposal.

The public portion of the meeting includes a presentation by the Mayor and Council to the New Milford Junior Football League Superbowl Champions.

The New Milford Auxiliary Police will also be present at the meeting to take their oath of office.

On the agenda is a resolution authorizing Capital Alternatives to prepare and submit necessary documentation on behalf of the Borough to apply for grants for the Hirschfeld Brook Flood Control Project.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to support legislation to reduce gun violence and promote public safety introduced by Councilwoman Hedy Grant.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a special hearing on Thursday Jan. 31 at 7pm devoted entirely to the continued hearing of the United Water property.
