Sandy Cancels Special Zoning Board Meeting

Continued hearing on development of the United Water property cancelled due to storm; rescheduled for November.

The special meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment regarding the development of the United Water Company property that was scheduled for Monday evening has been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. The special meeting has been rescheduled to be heard on Tuesday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at New Milford Borough Hall.

New Milford Redevelopment Associates (NMRA), a company headed by Peter Hekemian, V.P. of Development for the S. Hekemian Group, is seeking preliminary and final site plan approval for the 13-acre United Water property.

  • 70,500 sq ft supermarket 
  • 221 residential units with 428-spaced four-story parking garage 
  • 4300 sq ft bank

Hekemian is seeking variances from the Zoning Board to change the current residential zoning status of the property to a mixed-use development zoning.
