Mayor and Council Reorganization Fuels Division

In what appeared to be an 11th hour move, newly re-elected Democratic Councilman Austin Ashley pulled an upset when he made a motion to nominate Marc Leibman, the attorney representing him before the Zoning Board in the United Water property development, for Borough Attorney.

Rebsch Rescinds Recusal From Hekemian Hearings

At the start of Tuesday's Zoning Board meeting, board member Peter Rebsch requested that he be reseated so that he can participate in the hearing of the potential development of the United Water property by the S. Hekemian Group.

Zoning Board Rejects Motion To Consider Hekemian Revisions a New Application

The Zoning Board formally denied a motion made by Marc Leibman, the attorney who had represented Councilman Austin Ashley against the development of the United Water property, that the revisions made to the site plan constitutes the need for the filing of a new application.

Hekemian Addresses Revisions to Site Plan; Board Members Sworn In

During Tuesday's Zoning Board meeting, the applicant's attorney, Antimo "Andy" DelVecchio, informed the Board that the removal of 197 housing units from the site plan of the United Water property was done to satisfy their concerns regarding the high density of the residential portion of the project.

As a result of the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy, FEMA released updated preliminary Advisory Base Flood Elevation maps in December that, once final, may expand the flood zones in 10 New Jersey coastal counties, including Bergen County.

NMHS Principal Awarded Excellence in Professional Learning Practice

The Leaning Forward Foundation has chosen New Milford High School Principal Eric Sheninger as the recipient of the Excellence in Professional Learning Practice Award.

Drake New Board of Education President

In a reversal of roles, Darren Drake has taken the reins of Board of Education President from Dan Conner, while Conner will serve as Vice President, the role formerly held by Drake.
