Gubernatorial
- Republican Governor Chris Christe was challenged in the race for the 2013-17 term as Governor by Barbara Buono, a Democratic Senator out of New Jersey’s 18th District.
- According to the unofficial tallies released by the Borough, 61.7 percent of the votes in New Milford were in favor of Governor Christie. 60.23 percent of Bergen County votes went to Christie according to unofficial results released by the Bergen County Clerk.
Bergen County Sheriff
- Current Sheriff Michael Saudino, a Republican, ran against James Mordaga, a Democrat. 55.37 percent of the Bergen County votes went to Saudino while the incumbent Sheriff received 58.3 percent in New Milford.

- Former Paramus Mayor James Tedesco, a Democrat, edged out incumbent Republican John Mitchell by 0.01 percent in Bergen County, a mere 72 votes. Here in New Milford, Mitchell actually ended up ahead of Tedesco by 54 votes.
Public Question #1 – Veteran Gambling
- The first public question up for vote was in regard to Veterans and “Chance Games.” A yes vote allows veteran’s organizations to use the money collected from existing games of chance, such as bingo or raffles, to support their organizations.
- In Bergen County 79.92% of the votes were in favor and New Milford was right in line with 80.20% of the votes in favor.
Public Question #2 – Raise Minimum Wage

- A yes vote would be in favor of raising the minimum wage from $7.25 to $8.25 per hour. An annual cost-of-living-increase was also attached to the question.
- 65.18% of New Milford voters were in favor of the raising of minimum wage.
Senate – District 38
- Democratic incumbent Bob Gordon ran against Republican challenger Fernando Alonso for the District 38 Senate seat in the New Jersey State Legislature.
- Unofficial results have Gordon receiving 50.7 percent of the votes in New Milford versus 52.19 percent in the county.
