Booker and Lonegan Come Out on Top in Tuesday's Special Primary
In unofficial count, Booker and Lonegan get most votes in New Milford's special primary election.
Newark Mayor Corey Booker took the Democratic ticket in New Milford, while Steve Lonegan took the Republican ticket, in New Jersey's special primary election for the office of U.S. Senate left vacant by the death of Senator Frank Lautenberg.
Booker, with an unofficial count of 293 votes, was one of four Democratic candidates vying for the vacated seat. Lonegan had an unofficial count of 198. A total of 703 voters came out to cast their vote in Tuesday's special primary election.
Here is the unofficial count for all candidates:
- Corey Booker (D): 293
- Sheila Oliver (D): 11
- Rush Holt (D): 90
- Frank Pallone, Jr. (D): 75
- Steve Lonegan: (R): 198
- Alieta Eck (R): 35
- Personal Choice: 1
