Two Men Arrested in Connection With Landscaping Theft

A gas trimmer was taken out of the trailer of John Mirza Landscaping

New Milford police said two men were arrested Monday for the theft of a gas trimmer from a landscaper's parked trailer.

The NMPD said around 2:25 p.m. on Monday, they received a report of a passenger in a tan colored vehicle entering a trailer owned by the John Mirza Landscaping Company. Police said the man removed items from the trailer and fled the scene.

NMPD Sgt. John O’Malley observed the vehicle at New Bridge Road and Rosse Avenue and stopped it with the assistance of Officer George Herrero,  Officer Richard Giacobone, Jr., and Det. Brian Long.

The NMPD said the officers observed an Echo gas trimmer in the trunk. Police said they were later informed the vehicle occupants intended to pawn the trimmer in Saddle Brook. The owner of the trimmer identified it as his property.
