Two Caught After Fleeing Teaneck Police, Crashing into House

Police had called off brief pursuit before car hit house, authorities say.

Two men fled a traffic stop and crashed into a house on French Court Saturday before they were caught hiding near I-95, police said.

The incident began around 7 p.m. when Teaneck officers stopped a car the two men were riding in for a traffic violation, police said. The car sped away, and a brief chase ensued, but it was quickly called off, police said.

Police said the two unidentified men, who are from out of state, were possibly lost when they crashed into a house at the dead end of French Court and took off on foot. They were not being chased when the crash occurred, police said.
