Teaneck Man Charged After Bogota Chase, Report Says

Township man was allegedly upset after his wife and child left.

A 26-year-old Teaneck man was in custody Thursday after he led Bogota police on a chase ending on Interstate 95, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

Uri Elam was charged with eluding and was being held at the Bergen County Jail on $10,000 bail, records show. Bogota police also reportedly charged him with reckless driving and failure to yield.

The incident began around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when Elam allegedly sped along Larch Avenue in Bogota doing about 70 miles per hour and nearly flipped his pick-up truck, police said in the report. Officers caught up with him near Exit 72 in Fort Lee.

Elam's father who was in the car, Noah, reportedly told police his son was upset after his wife and child had left him and was heading to New York to see his daughter.
