Updated: PSE&G Reporting Most Power Restored
Power outages around the borough began Thursday morning
Updated at 5:33 p.m. Thursday.
Many parts of New Milford were in the dark for several hours on Thursday, forcing many businesses to close and making driving around the borough difficult.
PSE&G said up to 5,000 customers in the borough were without power as of 2 p.m. Thursday.

The utility company was reporting by 5:30 p.m. that most power had been restored with under 500 customers still without service.
Traffic lights were out at all of the major intersections on Thursday afternoon down River Road and businesses from Madison Avenue down through the Brookchester Shopping area were dark. Some businesses were closed, others had their doors open to allow some of the daylight inside.

Gas stations were also closed for hours as they were unable to pump gas during the power outage.
Generators were heard once again around the borough as residents continued to deal with the after effects of the historic flooding over the weekend.
