Police: Two Children Walking to DEO Middle School Hit by Car

Police said the children's injuries are not life threatening

NMPD Chief Frank Papapietro said at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

"An investigation conducted by Officer Brian Finale revealed that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Madison Avenue struck two pedestrians, each age 12, who were crossing Madison Avenue at Monroe Avenue," said Papapietro.

"The children were walking to the David E. Owens Middle School," Papapietro said. "One child was transported to Holy Name Hospital and the other to Hackensack Medical Center by Holy Name EMTs."
