Police Release Sketch of Stabbing Suspect

Victim says she was robbed of cash and electronics

The  on Friday released a sketch of the man they believe stabbed and robbed a 19-year-old Paramus woman.

The woman had a stab wound in her upper abdomen when she was from Route 4 to the Spring Valley Avenue overpass on Jan. 12.

She is in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center. Detectives interviewed her at the hospital and learned that the woman's assailant robbed her of electronic devices and cash, valued at more than $200, Capt. Ken Ehrenberg said.

The robber then ran down the stairs, heading east on Route 4 west, Ehrenberg said.

The woman described the man as Hispanic, in his early 30s, with a medium complexion, between 5'6" and 5'10", with short brown hair and a brown mustache, wearing a dark grey or black hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket, Ehrenberg said.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the stabbing to call the Paramus Police Department at (201) 262-3400 extension 553.

Police are not releasing the woman's name at this time, Ehrenberg said.
