Flood waters receded rapidly Tuesday morning and streets were able to reopen around the borough with the exception of a portion of Main Street

By noon Tuesday, the only street that was still blocked off from traffic was Main Street between Madison Avenue and River Road. United Water crews were at work on Main Street. Flood waters drained away from the NMHS athletic fields, with only a portion of the southern end of the field still under water. All that remained on previously flooded streets were saddle-horses no longer needed to block the roads.
