Night was full of activities that were not only fun but educational too! Click through our photo gallery.

The residents of New Milford took part in all the fun and then-some of the annual National Night Out event Tuesday presented by the New Milford Police Department and organized by officers Keith Wester and Bill Wilde.

There was food, live music and amusements for the kids and their families to enjoy. The event, which is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, had many educationally fun activities as well. The Bergen County Police and Bergen County Sheriff's Department were on hand offering demonstrations and informing residents about the services they provide to the county. Even a K-9 dog obliged the kids by letting them pet him.

The New Milford Fire Department once again served up free hot dogs that went in record time this year, and Sanducci's debuted their mobile brick oven pizza truck.

New Milford Emergency Services were on hand showing kids and their parents the inside of the fire trucks and ambulances. The New Milford Education Foundation was busy signing up runners for their running group and getting everybody excited about the 10K fundraiser they will be hosting this fall.

SOD (Stop Over Development) was also there with a table encouraging residents to attend the New Milford Zoning Board meetings regarding the proposed development of the United Water Company property.

The evening also served as the kick-off to the campaign season as incumbent Republican candidates Diego Robalino and Dominic Colucci, and Democratic contenders Ira Grotsky and Thea Sirocchi, circulated the crowds talking with residents.

Many local businesses were on hand with information, as well as many community organizations such as the Boy Scouts, the New Milford Chamber of Commerce, the New Milford Women's Club and the Beautification Committee.
