NMPD Officers Competed in the Law Enforcement Outdoor Challenge

Four members of the department competed in the event which raised funds for a River Vale police officer's son recently diagnosed with kidney disease

Members of the New Milford Police Department joined officers from 21 different law enforcement agencies in the Law Enforcement Outdoor Challenge on Sunday.

The event raised funds for the Police Unity Tour Chapter 37 and the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.  The money that was raised will go to six-month-old Gavin Scimeca, who is the son of River Vale Police Officer Anthony Scimeca.  Gavin was recently diagnosed with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease.

The NMPD was represented by Sgt. Frank Ramaci and Officers Brian Clancy, Kevin VanSaders and Derek Mattessich.  In order to participate, each team was required to raise $500. The New Milford PBA Local 83 donated the fee for the competition.
