"The letters "Rira" were painted in bold, black ink and the spray looked fresh and did not seem worn by the weather or other elements," the report said.

Further down there was a second mark "resembling an asterisk" sprayed on the guardrail. The matter was referred to the Detective Division and the DPW has been notified regarding clean up, according to the NMPD.

A borough resident reported that two bicycles had been stolen from their home sometime between May 2 and May 3 in the overnight hours, according to the NMPD. The resident left a dark red "single speed adult bicycle" and a children's "hot pink with white trim" bicycle leaning against the garage around 11:30 p.m. on May 2.

When the resident left her home at 7:30 a.m. on May 3 to drive her kids to school, police said she noticed the bikes were missing.

A man came to NMPD headquarters to report that someone had been making "suspicious calls" to his mother, according to police reports.

Police said the man reported his mother had been getting calls from someone "identifying himself as a rep for the National Social Security Agency" and the caller was seeking banking information. The man's mother did not give the caller her bank information, according to police.

The man said all bank account numbers for his mother had been changed as a precaution.

A borough resident was the victim of identity theft, according to the NMPD. The resident noticed suspicious charges against her savings account when she was paying her bills online. "She noticed four debit purchase charges she did not make, nor authorize," police reports said. The charges were for three items related to an X-Box Live and one purchase from iTunes.

"Upon realizing these charges, the woman immediately called her bank," police reports said. "A freeze was immediately put on her account."

Police said when she went to her bank, other fraudulent charges were pending against her account. The bank advised her to closed her account and open a new one, according to the NMPD. She then came to the NMPD to make a formal report.
