New Milford Volunteer Fire Department Company 2 is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation’s Community Partners Program.
Employees from the New Milford Wells Fargo Bank branch were on hand at the August meeting at Company 2 and presented the ceremonial check.
NMFD Company 2 will use the funds to build a new monument to honor their fallen and departed firefighters and those firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001. The monument will incorporate a 12-foot piece of steel from the World Trade Center provided to NMFD Co. 2 by the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

The dedication of the monument is tentatively scheduled for November 27.
