A 30-year-old New Milford man was arrested Tuesday for possessing hundreds of images of child pornography, according to the Bergen County prosecutor.

Jackson T. Dietrich was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, specifically possession and distribution of child pornography, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.

The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Computer Crimes Unit, under the direction of Chief Steven Cucciniello and the New Milford Police Department under the direction of Chief Frank Papapietro.

The arrest stemmed from an internet investigation in which Dietrich was acquiring and transmitting child pornography, Molinelli said in a statement Tuesday.

“In this case, the child pornography contained hundreds of images and/or videos of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts,” Molinelli said.

monster! they should lock him up and throw away the key but unfortunately that's not going to happen - our laws in dealing with sick individuals like this are not harsh enough. I'm so sorry for all the children who have been victimized by monsters like him.

Amazing, they walk among us, and blend so well.

Very distubring story. Just reminds us to never let our guards down and be EXTREMELY vigilant when it comes to our kids.
Em November 26, 2013 at 04:41 PM
With these charges can this sick and twisted individual post bail?
newmilford1967 November 26, 2013 at 05:42 PM
lock him up and throw the key away
JG407 November 26, 2013 at 09:05 PM
I have known him and his family for years. I can't imagine what they are going through right now. Can you fathom his mother's disbelief and pain? That being said, he's a very sick individual. I am assuming there will be a lot of jail time for this. Let's just pray he didn't physically touch any children and hopefully was caught before that could happen.
Cranky Fake November 26, 2013 at 09:11 PM
This clown will be out on bail and get a slap on the wrist. Bet anything no jail time. He was a consumer not a producer. My problem is that it is supply and demand, garbage like this creates the demand and even sicker garbage keep supplying. Capital sentences for crimes against children will go along way to curtail this action. Sorry for giving you a hard time jimmy, I really don't care what you watch, but to your original post, al jazzera broadcast celebrations when those towers were hit and in my opinion have no place on American airwaves. I'll admit when I am wrong and it was wrong to take a shot at you in this thread, sorry.

Capital punishment is not murder

my apologies... lock him up and let the inmates at him.
Cranky Fake November 26, 2013 at 11:22 PM
Funny... a previous post called me out for not believing in the first amendment and here one of my comments is pulled, based upon the expression of how I believe those who victimize children should be judged and if found guilty by a Judge, have a death sentence be applied and broadcast publically on local TV. This is done around the world, just look at prime time TV in Iran, they hang people for far less serious crimes and broadcast for all those to witness and "learn" from. Perhaps the recent Détente our government has shown with our Persian friends will translate over to our criminal justice system. We can teach them how to manufacture weapons grade plutonium and they can teach us how to properly deal with people like Mr. Dietrich. Wonder if he has young children in his family?...this will probably make for some interesting dinner conversation on Thanksgiving. His family must be so proud.
A3723 November 27, 2013 at 12:17 AM
Hey Cranky, Leave his family out of it, okay? He's a grown man. Let me assure you that his family is not proud. Hope no one in your family ever screws up.
Donna Colucci November 27, 2013 at 07:49 AM
"a hundred out of town construction workers whistling and cat calling girls and boys for two years ." Mr. Gadeleta, so in your words construction workers are cat calling perverts? Really? You should really think twice before you group people with disparaging comments. Remember when someone points a finger at someone, there are four fingers pointing back at them.
Cranky Fake November 27, 2013 at 08:19 AM
@a, what about the families of those children? Why should his family be left out of it? Suppose his nieces or nephews have some friends over and uncle perv decided to bring things to the next level as many of these animals do. Someone capable of having hundreds of images of prepubescent children being molested, surely does not care about my commenting upon the patch, perhaps knowing the embarrassment brought to his own people might. So please spare me the poor family BS, that is why these pigs get away with this, no consequences. Unless this guy was raised by a pack of wolves and then adopted at 30, how he was raised by this family is relevant. If he did not want to have the light shone on them he should never have downloaded this filth.
A3723 November 27, 2013 at 08:44 AM
Again, Cranky, hope no one in your family ever does something to embarrass you. Are you guilty of the adults in your family's sins?
Cranky Fake November 27, 2013 at 08:48 AM
Please....he had pictures of children being molested. If I raised a child that got off on that, then yes I would be guilty of their sins, as they are. Keep making excuses
A3723 November 27, 2013 at 09:40 AM
Cranky, I'm not making excuses for him. Do you blame your parents for the fact that you get off on being an unapologetic troll? They must be so proud.
A3723 November 27, 2013 at 09:45 AM
Since I am apparently not allowed to comment directly to anyone, I will just say that I wonder if people who troll message boards with the purpose of inflaming an already bad situation blame their parents?
A3723 November 27, 2013 at 09:46 AM
Really? Even the last comment? Okay. Done.
Mary McAree McElroy November 27, 2013 at 10:32 AM
@ Mike & Ulises - this article has NOTHING to do with the UW property and the attempts by both you to try to link this terrible situation in ANY way, shape or form to UW are outrageous. Mike, your comments about construction works are demeaning & actually say more about you. There are plenty of real issues regarding UW, so why don't both of you stick to those. If you wonder why people get fed up with SOD-it's because the spokespeople - such as Ulises & Mike make up garbage when it suits their agenda.
Cranky Fake November 27, 2013 at 11:34 AM
@A3723 those voices in your head are playing tricks on you. When you compare someone that writes pointed comments on a blog to someone that has hundreds of images of prepubescent children engaged in sex acts on their computer, its speaks volumes to your intelligence or lack thereof. My parents taught me right from wrong and I know this piece of garbage was not taught the same moral lessons as I was, if he was he would not be in the situation he is now. My parents can look themselves in the mirror and be proud of the job they did raising their children, can't say the same for his. Try to spin this anyway you want, you will continue to be made a fool.
JG407 November 27, 2013 at 12:13 PM
A3723 is obviously a family member. This must be very hard for him/her so I will cut a little bit of slack. However, you are right Cranky, you really cannot compare to somebody writing snarky comments on a website to someone being a sick pedophile. My advice to you A3723, stay off these sites and be with your family right now. Obviously these comments are going to upset you. However, if this was not your family member, how would you be reacting? Pedophilia is the worst of the worst of crimes. It doesn't get any sicker than getting off on pics of innocent naked children doing god knows what.
Mary McAree McElroy November 27, 2013 at 04:16 PM
Your comments make about as much sense as Mike and Ulises. They are not factual & they are irrelevant to the subject of this story. This has NOTHING to do with UW. If you have facts to prove that a supermarket across from a school is a threat in the magnitude of this story or contributes to child luring then by all means bring them on. Start by looking at the exiting school in this town that's located directly across from our Shoprite. Let me know what you boys come up with in terms of actual relevant facts. Until then, Johnny Balls, we have nothing to debate.
Mary McAree McElroy November 27, 2013 at 05:35 PM
And Johnny, one more thing - look whose comments have mysteriously disappeared. The comment made by Mike-GONE. Both comments made by Ulises-GONE. I believe that means one of two things: they deleted their own comments OR the editor removed. I'm going to guess that it was most likely the former. Looks like the boys your so adamant are "right" have headed for the hills.
newmilford1967 November 27, 2013 at 05:41 PM
ok people lets move on to another topic.stop being children......
Michael J. Gadaleta November 27, 2013 at 08:01 PM
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for my poor choice of words from my posting last night . I should not have allowed my genuine concern for the safety of our high school students to stereotype hard working construction workers in the manner that I did . I should not have linked this article with the United Water property . Having grown up in the construction industry I find my own word offensive , and for I am truly sorry.
