New Milford Fire Dpt Assists Oradell with Two-Alarm House Fire

New Milford, River Edge and Paramus fire departments responded to two-alarm fire in Oradell Friday.

Oradell, River Edge, New Milford and Paramus Fire Departments responded to a two-alarm fire on Elm Street in Oradell Friday afternoon. 

According to Oradell Fire Chief Dan Nywening, a motorist passing by called in the fire at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Although it was initially reported that people were inside the house because of a parked car in the driveway, Nywening confirmed that no one was home at the time. 

Nywening said that the Bergen County Arson Squad has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire, which is standard procedure. 

The New Milford Volunteer Ambulance Corp. was also on the scene. No firefighter was injured while putting out the fire, Nywening reported.
