New Milford Fire Dpt. 5k and Family Fun Saturday

Get your running shoes on--the  sponsored by NMFD Company 1 is Saturday and will start at NMFD Co. 1 Headquarters located at 249 Center Street. Race day registration is from 7:00am – 8:15am. 

The 5K will kick off at 8:30am for runners and walkers. The kids half-mile dash (for children age 12 and under) and the 150 yard sprint (for children age 8 and under) will start at 9:30am. 

In addition to family registration, this year the run is offering team registration. To register as a team, there must be at least four runners. 

Trophies will be awarded to the top team, top family, and top New Milford resident. There will also be raffle prizes given away every 15 minutes to participants. Prizes include iPods, Giants tickets, Redbulls tickets, a two night stay at the Loews Regency Hotel in NYC, sports memorabilia, gift cards, free fitness passes, and many more items.

There will also be a D.J., refreshments, activities for the kids such as a dunk tank with prizes, a face painter and an obstacle course. Photographer Brett Dzadik will once again be taking shots of the runners.

This year Co. 1 will be hosting a BBQ immediately following the run with entertainment provided by two local bands: The Neverends and Radio Activity. 

Proceeds raised from the run will benefit the NMFD Co.1. The funds will be used for training programs, additional uniform expenses, fire awareness initiatives, and recruiting expenses.
