National Night Out Returns to New Milford Next Week

This annual event is designed to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness.

The New Milford community is invited once again to take part in National Night Out Against Crime next Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the field behind Borough Hall.

This free and fun-filled annual event, hosted by the New Milford Police Department, is designed to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness, as well as get residents out to mingle with their community.

Organized by Police Officer Keith Wester, with the help of Officer Bill Wilde, National Night Out is an event that families look forward to each year.

The New Milford Fire Department will be on hand to give kids a ride in the bucket of the ladder truck and the Sheriff's Department and Bergen County Police will be giving demonstrations. There will also be face painting, ice cream, cotton candy, music and more.

Community resources such as the Substance Abuse Prevention Committee will be on hand with information, along with the New Milford Public Library and several civic organizations. Various local businesses help to sponsor this annual event.
