The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office will swear in its first female chief of detectives on Monday.
Acting Chief Carmen Martino will also be the first Hispanic woman in New Jersey law enforcement history to lead a prosecutor's office. She'll be sworn in at the Law and Public Safety Institute in Mahwah at 4 p.m. Monday.
Martino has more than 24 years of law enforcement experience in criminal
investigations. She began her law enforcement career on July 30, 1990, devoting
the early part of her career to undercover narcotics work as a detective in
Martino's expertise includes homicide, sex crimes, money laundering, burglary, organized crime and
