The New Milford Police Department is signed up for the DEA Drug Takeback program.
Despite their well-intended purposes, in some cases, prescription medications have begun to cause major issues around the country. Whether it is addiction, theft, loss or disposal, prescription pills need to be handled with care.
Any resident who has unused or expired prescription medication can turn them in at police headquarters for proper disposal this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The FDA website explains why these precautions should be taken and mentions local ‘take-back’ days as a safe option.
“Residents may drop off unused and expired prescription medications at New Milford Police HG,” said Chief of Police Frank Papapietro. “Please remove any personal identification that may appear on the mediations.”
