Citations Issued For Click It or Ticket
New Milford Police take part in the Statewide Click It or Ticket campaign.
The New Milford Police Dept. issued 29 summonses to motorists last Wednesday during the statewide Click it or Ticket campaign.
NMPD Traffic Supervisor, Lt. Robert Jones, coordinated the effort for the department and was assisted by Sgt. Daniel LaMorges, P.O. Renzo Trapani and P.O. Richard Giacobone, Jr.
The officers were stationed on the Boulevard between Webster and Trensch Drives. The results are as follows:

- 16 violations for failing to wear seat belts
- 5 violations for failure to produce documents
- 2 violations for unregistered vehicles
- 2 violations for unlicensed drivers
- 1 violation for careless driving
- 1 violation for uninsured vehicle
- 1 violation for riding on parts not intended for passengers
- 1 violation for disregard of an officers direction
In discussing the success of last week's program, Chief of Police Frank Papapietro said, "Statistics overwhelmingly show the correalation between seatbelt use and decreases in fatalities and serious injuries on the roadways."
"We were glad to be part of the statewide effort," he added.
