Busted Water Pipe Delays Sex Ruling

A potential ruling by Superior Court on Monday in the alleged sexual misconduct of two former Paramus Catholic High School employees was delayed after a New Milford man kicked a water pipe causing flooding and evacuation of the county courthouse.

Defendants and prosecutors in the Paramus Catholic High School sex case involving two former school employees will have to wait for a new date.

A judge was expected to decide on Monday if Artur Sopel of River Edge and Michael Sumulikoski of Elmwood Park could be charged by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office for alleged sexual misconduct during a 2010 student trip the men chaperoned to Germany.

But the decision was delayed after irate drug defendant Benjamin Blohm from New Milford allegedly kicked and busted a water pipe on the third floor of the Bergen County Courthouse causing flooding, damage, injuries, and the evacuation of the premises.
