Borough Residents Likely to Hear Sirens Friday

Oradell will be testing its lightning detection systems at 10 a.m. Friday morning

New Milford residents may hear sirens Friday as Oradell conducts training and testing on its new lightning detection systems after 10 a.m., according to borough officials.

Residents are likely to hear the sirens at Grant Field, which is right on the border of both boroughs. Sirens may also be heard from Hoffman Field which is only blocks away from the old waterworks on New Milford Avenue.

Oradell will also be testing the detection systems at their Doug Parcells Athletic Complex and Memorial Field, which is across from Oradell Public School. The borough recently purchased the Strike Guard Lightning Detection System which was installed on their four main athletic fields and parks.
