Body Found Near Teaneck Park is Missing Bogota Man, Son Says

Investigation is ongoing.

A Bogota man was found dead Wednesday night, four days after he went missing, a family member said.

Police have not confirmed the man's identity but David Portalatin said his father, Victor Portalatin, 76, was found in Teaneck.

Police said the body was found around 7:30 p.m. near the CSX railroad tracks and the old soap factory, next to Herrick Park. The soap factory is a short distance from the man's Leonia Avenue home.

"It's still very early in the investigation," Police Chief Robert Wilson said Wednesday night.

Community members had fanned out around Teaneck and Bogota to search for the man after he was .
