Accused Killer Appears in Court

Manning has yet to find legal representation

The man accused of leaving a bullet-ridden corpse on a quiet street in Paramus made his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court on Monday in front of Judge Patrick S. Roma.

Randy K. Manning, a Brooklyn resident, is accused of , a New York rapper known by his stage name, Kampane, and burning his body before leaving it in a car parked on Village Circle West in Paramus.

In addition to the murder charge, Bergen County First Assistant Prosecutor John L. Higgins read eight other complaints against Manning, including desecration of human remains, second degree burglary, felony murder, tampering with a witness, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence and arson.

Manning said little at the hearing, only replying "no" when Roma asked Manning if he'd chosen an attorney. Roma told Manning that if he couldn't afford an attorney, he could apply for a public defender.

Manning is being held in the Bergen County Jail on $2 million bail.

The former Englewood resident was arrested Saturday. Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said Manning shot Stoute in an abandoned building in Englewood on Aug. 15, before setting fire to the structure and Stoute's corpose.

Molinelli said Manning returned for the body on Aug. 16 and drove it to Paramus, where it was found later that day.
