Shoprite Roof Collapse Should Weigh Heavily

This week's roof collapse and structural damage at the existing Shoprite should weigh heavily on the minds of the zoning board who will vote on the proposed new Shoprite development tonight at Town Hall, 7:00pm, open to the public. Larry Inserra has put off renovation at the existing store for almost three years, counting on swift approval of this application, while choosing to replace broken floor tiles with cardboard cutouts duct taped to the floor. Now that renovations are mandatory and under way at the existing location, there is no reason for the the zoning board to approve this application. Hopefully Larry Inserra and his developers will accept their fate and the board's decision and drop their law suits against New Milford if the application is not approved.
