Mayor Subrizi Thanks Everyone For Fortitude And Patience During Storm

We have just survived Hurricane Sandy and Nor’easter Athena. There is much to be grateful for. No one was injured. That is the most important. Without your health you have nothing. Many homes were damaged, and the restoration period has begun. There is information on the Borough web site regarding help with this phase.

I want to thank everyone for their fortitude and patience, although I know we were on borrowed time with patience.  

In the beginning we are not able to know that it will take 10 days to get everyone’s power restored. We don’t know that the streets around Ascension Church will be affected in the way that they were; or that there will be 6 houses on Fulton Street that have a problem; or that Holland Avenue would have scattered outages up and down the block.

Our first responders, Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Police Auxiliary have worked and continue to work to keep us safe and secure. We are blessed to have them.

And when this happens all the information is useless until everyone has power.  That was our goal and we are almost there. I believe everyone has power, finally.  If anyone is without power please call Borough Hall or email me.

And thank goodness for our DPW. They came to our rescue where ever they could, as they always do. I know the leaves are piling up and they will be around.  Forgive them, if they are a little behind schedule.  Without them New Milford would not look as good as it does.
