So many people are turned off with the Patch because of personal attacks by mainly commentators that hide their identity with fake login names. These fake commentators are usually someone you know and at times a friend messing with you, which unfortunately I experienced. I had a friend in town who I shared private thoughts with and trusted. This friend would comment on the Patch under fake names and attack me for months. When I discovered who it was I was hurt, sent this person an angry email (which this person then forward to others in town, just to make me look crazy when i was - just hurt) and of course I've never called this person a friend again. These fake commentators have taken over the Patch, tarnished people's reputation with lies, destroyed friendships, hardy ever stick to the article's topic and they've ruined the Patch for good. I'm not a fan of FaceBook because all your information is sold to advertising companies and to the government, just like LinkIn, but at least with these other sites you can identify, most of the time, who is who. The Patch should look into ways to stop these fake commentators and verify who's who. And the fake commentators should stop hiding and own their thoughts they write on the Patch by using their real name. Life is too short and it's a waste of time if you don't tell others how you truly feel - in your own words, with our own name.
