Bad Dog, Bad Dog

@ass, from the Feb 21st Bergen Record-not sure what it all means, but these were their statements.

New Milford Mayor Ann Subrizi also issued a statement in which she said she was "pleased with the final outcome." "Through the years, this has been an issue in New Milford," the mayor said in her statement. "There have been several different versions of the application; none of them truly suited the land or the neighborhood." Alluding to what’s sure to come, she added, "I hope the appeal process moves quickly, and I hope the best interest of New Milford is of prime concern to the judge who will ultimately decide what is going to be — or not be — there."

Another borough leader also hailed last week’s vote as the "right decision," but warned that obstacles lie ahead. "The unanimity of the zoning board’s action sends a powerful message," schools Superintendent Michael Polizzi said in a statement. "It’s unfortunate it took as long as it did. "Looking backward," he added, "there were a number of missteps and missed opportunities that might have secured the property for community and educational purposes for the long term, but that didn’t happen. "The challenges still before New Milford are what it can do to heal divisions created in the community; what to do to protect that parcel from future invasion; how to brace itself for whatever legal ramifications may come from the zoning board’s decision; and, certainly, how to recognize and act upon the potential opportunities that may have been opened up."
