New Milford Fire Department Mourns Loss of Dan Longo

Dan Longo, 48, a lifelong resident of New Milford and an active member of the community, passed away on July 29 with his family by his side.

Brother of Fire Co. 2 Life Member Marc Longo, and former Fire Co. 2 Lt. Nick Longo (deceased) and Gary Longo, Dan is remembered by the fire department for his cooking skills, calling him a 'Master Chef.'

According to Angelo DeCarlo, former Fire Chief from Co. 2, Dan served as the company's resident chef--cooking for the firefighters after meetings, training sessions and other events.

"Dan cooked for the love of it, and to demonstrate his appreciation for the Volunteers," DeCarlo said. "And in honor of the Fire Company that two of his brothers called home for so many years."
