Fun's Jack Antonoff Works with Taylor Swift

A former resident and student of a school in New Milford recently had the chance to co-write a song with Taylor Swift.

Jack Antonoff, a former student of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County, has had some serious success over the last few years, including dating a multiple Golden Globe winner and working with Taylor Swift.

Antonoff is currently dating Lena Dunham. Dunham was the 2013 winner of two Golden Globe Awards: Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy), for HBO’s Girls, and Best Actress (Television Series Musical or Comedy).

Antonoff’s is the lead guitarist and songwriter for the popular band Fun. The band formed in early 2008 and never looked back. Fun’s second album, Some Nights, was released in February of 2012 and has received praise from many major music outlets.

Here are some of the awards Fun has received over the last two years:

  • Grammy Award – Fun – 2013 Best New Artist
  • Grammy Award – “We Are Young” – 2013 Song of the Year
  • Billboard Music Award – Fun – 2013 Top Rock Artist
  • Teen Choice Awards – Fun – 2013 Choice Rock Group
  • Teen Choice Award – “We Are Young” – Choice Single by a Group

Recently, Antonoff worked with and co-wrote one of Taylor Swift’s songs, “Sweeter Than Fiction.”

According to usnews.com, Antonoff had the following to say about his experience with Swift.

"She's just like the most incredible writer and singer and performer," Antonoff said in a recent interview. "She feels completely unaffected by all the stuff happening around her, so working with her was like the most amazing experience. ... It made me better at what I do just watching her process."

The song debuted during the credits of a british film “One Chance’ but is not scheduled for relaes until later this fall.
