New Milford's Fields to be Spruced Up

The Mayor and Council voted to move forward with a plan to improve the Babe Ruth, Williams and Kennedy Fields.

The Mayor and Council voted to move forward with a plan to improve several fields around the borough.

The ordinance that passed appropriates $97,000 for the undertaking of improvements at the Babe Ruth Field, Williams Field and Kennedy Field.

The grant, for $45,000, from the 2012 Bergen County Open Space Trust matches $45,000 the borough contributes from their own Open Space Trust.

Anticipated future projects include a backstop, fencing, netting on top of the fence and bleachers at the Babe Ruth Field, netting on top of the existing fence at Williams Field and bleachers at Kennedy Field.
