David and Goliath

Everyone knows the Bibical story of David and Goliath. There's good reason for this. It's a inspirational story of good vs evil, the strong against the weak and right against wrong. It's a story of hope. It's a story of faith at a time of desperation. But now it's our story; our residents vs the strangers, coming to town to change it, and change it forever.
But wait, we knew this was a very bad change, an awful change, a dangerous "life as we know it change". But we quickly recogonized the enemy among us, even though our elected officials welcomed them. They came, with gifts in hand, promises of glorious fields to play on, High School improvements for our most valuable assets, our children. But that was rouse, a joke to play on our residents, to divide us, to conquer us.
But a few of us saw their real intentions. To disrupt our way of life by building the largest construction project in recent memory . An unwelcomed project on the last open space in our community. A space with wildlife and forest, and enchanted space. Little David gathered his thoughts, questioned his strength, " was he big enough to take on this monster"?, could he defeat the unwelcomed visitor?  Townspeople laughed,  " David, " they said, " you are too little to beat he monster, too weak, they will win and build it anyway".
Little David would not give up. He had the naysayers removed from elected office, he made preparations, he studied the enemy's weaknesses and his false promises. He warned the townspeople that the visitor was really a monster seeking to destroy our little town.
Little David fought hard and for many years! David knew in his heart that
"Right is Might", he believed that he could not loose.
Little David beat his enemies down, one by one, with a 5 to 0 vote at the Zoning Board . Many thanks to all the "Little David's" in our town.
Let's hope this is just the beginning of a much greater town.
