History of New Milford Fire Department

The New Milford Library and the
Historic Preservation Commission will co-host a reception Sunday,
June 8, from 2 to 3:30 pm, at the library celebrating a recently
installed exhibit on the history of the New Milford Fire Department.

The display was originally housed at Fire Company 2, which is undergoing renovations. Items include a leather bucket
used for the “bucket brigade” and other fire-fighting equipment;
helmets, badges and uniforms; as well as several photographs.
Firefighter Bob Ryan, who is also a NMHPC member, will offer a
history of the New Milford Fire Department.

The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, email the NMHPC at nmhistoric@gmail.com
